Tootsie Pop Trivia - Find Out How Many Licks It Takes To Get To The Center!

We all know the commercial about the tootsie pop, with the owl, where the narrator asks, "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?"

Well, my daughter has seen that commercial and last night when she went trick or treating she got some Tootsie Roll pops of her own. Today she asked herself this question and did this experiment.

Her test subject was a red pop, and she used a page to tally each time she took a lick. Here is a picture of the paper below.

Her experiment took quite a while, especially with doing all those hash marks for every lick she took. However, she was patient and perservered!

Her result -- 750 licks, exactly!

Here is a picture of her in triumph! (Actually, she then ate the tootsie roll in the center, so this is a picture of her with a different pop!)

Mom was not fast enough to capture a picture of the original!
